Noami Campbell, Story of a Super Model














Naomi Campbell, British supermodel, who was the first black cover model of French Vogue Paris and European Edition of Times. Naomi is going to celebrate her 25 years journey next year in fashion industry. Started career in 1980s, Noami becomes cover-girl of more than 500 fashion magazine.


Early Life


Noami was born in Streatham, London, England on Th May, 1970. Her mother Valerie Campbell, was a ballet dancer of Afro-Jamaican descent. Noami never met with her biological father, since he left her and her mother at the age of 2 months and when Valerie was only 18 years age.


Career


Noami first appear in cover of Elle, at the age of 15, as a substitute of another model. In August 1988, she appeared Vague Paris as the first Black cover girl, that mentioned earlier. Till than she is spending busy schedule with modeling, cat-walking and other fashion related businesses.


The high times of her career was 1990s, when she was counted as one of the top super models along with Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schaeffer and Kate Moss.


Charity


Noami Campbell has been involved with a number of charity works. Since 1997, she has been serving for the betterment of Sub-Saharan Africa. She also worked with Nelson Mandela.


Personal Life


Since never met with her biological father, Noami expresses regard to Quincy Jones and Chris Blackwell as adopted father and Nelson Mandela as adopted grandfather. Campbell was never married, until summer 2008, when a report said that, she married a Russian real-estate business man and therefore accepted Orthodox faith.
